This song is dedicated to my mother: Galit Shira Burg. RIP Jun 8 1968 - November 28 2022.
I was just about to finalize the video today and send it to her before I heard the news that she died in a car accident 3 hours before I woke up. She even left me a voice mail at 2:30AM today that I didn't get to see. My heart sunk.
The last time we spoke was in a video call a couple days ago, I was playing the drums for the first time for her (I just got them 2 weeks ago and never played the drums before), she seemed impressed and said she was proud of me. Our call ended in a casual bye, I did not know it was the last time I was going to talk to her.
I sent her an old version of this song before I finished the lyrics and the production, I released it on Spotify a couple days ago and I don't know if she actually heard it. I am actually playing the drums on this record. I hope she's in a happy place up there and listening to my song and proud of my drum playing.
I know she would've loved the spiritual nature of these lyrics.
