Roadside Chat: Routine searching of property before releasing it to a 3rd party

In this video, Anthony Bandiero talks about searching of property and 3rd parties.

Cases mentioned:
📌 Gaston v. State, 155 Ga. App. 337, 270 S.E.2d 877 (1980)

Warrantless  search of bag which defendant gave to a bystander who came to her aid  after a one–car accident could not be justified as an authorized  inventory of bag's contents and, hence, subsequent seizure of drugs from  bag was improper where facts indisputably showed that need for an  inventory of bag was artificially created to enable police officers to  conduct a search of bag without probable cause. U.S.C.A.Const. Amend. 4.
