Bull sharks are large, strong creatures with a reputation for violence. They can grow to be longer than 3m (10 feet) and heavier than 350kg (800lbs). They are ferocious predators with little to fear.

These Fijian scuba divers have submerged themselves 25 meters (75 feet) below the surface to congregate in a region where there are a large number of bull sharks. They can watch a regulated feeding up close. Experts disagree on the appropriateness of these feedings, which are debatable. At first, it was believed that interfering with and altering animal behavior was harmful to the animal population. There is no denying that it could be harmful to make sharks think of people as food.

But the reality is much more complicated.
