Dr. Julie Ponesse - Words of Wisdom

Dr. Julie Ponesse was a professor of Ethics at Huron University College. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from Western University and a Masters in Bioethics from the University of Toronto. She has published widely in the areas of ancient philosophy, ethical theory, and applied ethics, and has taught throughout Canada and the US for the past twenty years.

In the fall of 2021, Dr. Ponesse faced the most important ethical question of career: “ Do I consent to a medical procedure I am not comfortable with in order to keep my job?”
Dr. Julie Ponesse did not consent and therefore lost her position. She then began to take action for the protection and restoration of rights and freedoms by posting videos, speaking at events, and writing a book. Her book is entitled: “My Choice: The Ethical Case.” Additionally, Dr. Julie Ponesse now serves as the Ethics Scholar for The Democracy Fund

Not only is she an inspiration to freedom advocate, Benita Pedersen, she is an inspiration to thousands and thousands of Canadians!
