Official data - just published by the ABS on Friday, Nov 25th, shows a 17% excess death figure: this is for all-cause deaths as certified to the end of August 22.

These are war-time figures.

This equates to an extra 18,671 lives.

Australia lost close to 40,000 casualties in WW2. The trend line does not look like dropping. At this rate, by year-end, it will be close to 25,000 and the nation will exceed 40,000 excess deaths in just 18 months
