East European Arms Industries Revel in Ukraine Conflict – Report

Arms industries of Eastern Europe are enjoying historic growth as countries like Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic do their utmost to provide weapons to Ukraine, Reuters reports.

"Taking into account the realities of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the visible attitude of many countries aimed at increased spending in the field of defense budgets, there is a real chance to enter new markets and increase export revenues in the coming years," said Sebastian Chwalek, CEO of Poland's PGZ weapons manufacturer.

Regional officials say that local companies are racing to increase hiring and ramp up production, as national supplies of weapons, ammunition and equipment run out due to regular Kiev-bound shipments, the report said. #RT
