Funny moment Raphael Varane jokes after alarm goes off during France press conference

An alarm went off during Raphael Varane's news conference at France's training ground on Sunday, prompting a joke from the central defender about a peculiar incident which happened in 2018 at Les Bleus' base camp during the past World Cup.

During overnight celebrations following France's 4-3 win in the round of 16 in Russia, defender Adil Rami sprayed his team-mates with a fire extinguisher, making the alarms go off and causing a temporary evacuation from the hotel.

"This time it's not Adil Rami, I promise" said Varane to the media after the alarm started.

France reached the knockouts with one group match to spare at the 2022 World Cup after a 2-1 victory over Denmark on Saturday (26th November).
