What is Revival?

Many people think they know what revival is when the Bible and past revivals are better places to look for examples and definitions
This lesson will define revival by indeed looking at what past theologians have said and with examples showing what it is, what it isn't and what we should look for in a true revival.

"Revival is more than big meetings, religious excitement, a quickening of the saints, being filled with the Holy Spirit, or great harvests of souls. One may have one or all of these without revival. But revival does include them all ... Some think revival is only a supernatural thing of unusual events, terrifying manifestations, and special times and seasons. Others view it as a steady continuous work of God from a genuine Spirit-anointed Church functioning as it is supposed to. Both models are valid but often the first is needed to produce a genuine example of the second."
