Shez's rampage has warped herself and the leaders of the Three Houses into a limitless void. Edelgard appears to be back to normal but has no recollection of any of the events after the battle of Arianrhod in Chapter 9. After Dimitri and Claude bring her up to speed, the being who possessed Shez appears before the three rulers and reveals his true identity as the ancient mage Epimenides, a member of a group of people who would become Those Who Slither In The Dark who had passed his consciousness down through the ages in an attempt to cleanse the surface world of the children of the goddess. But Shez and the three lords manage to put an end to his insane scheme and escape!
