6-year-old boy rescued after nearly 48 hours after Indonesia earthquake

310 people have been killed and 24 are still missing after a 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia's West Java province on Monday afternoon.

In Cianjur, one of the hardest-hit areas, a 6-year-old boy named Azka was rescued by an evacuation team from the ruins of his house after being trapped for almost 48 hours.

According to the country's National Disaster Management and Mitigation Agency, risk assessments of the impacts of the quake are underway and the aid would be continuously distributed to the survivors in evacuation centers across the district of Cianjur.

On Thursday, the agency reported the tremors destroyed over 56,000 houses and displaced more than 62,000 people in the district of Cianjur.
