Labi-labi or bulus is a type of soft-shelled turtle or freshwater softshell turtle. In general, freshwater turtles have an oval or slightly round body shape, flat without scales. Generally, the color of the turtle shell or carapace varies from black to gray depending on the species. The turtles have no teeth, and the jaws are closed by sharp beaks. The nose of the turtle is elongated in the shape of a proboscis. The turtle's tongue is thick, short, wide and attached to the floor of the mouth. Male turtles have a long, thick tail and a small opening near the anus. In contrast, the female's tail is shorter.
