Who Benefits from Division 1: The Mind Stone

The past 2 or 3 decades in general, and the past 2 or 3 years in particular, have seen a lot of division in the United States. While there are many reasons for this phenomenon, I believe there are companies who profiting and organizations who are benefiting from this division. The companies may not be doing it intentionally but they are doing it none the less.

This is the first of a 6 part series about companies and organizations contributing to and/or benefiting from division. This series uses the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU's) "Infinity Gauntlet" and "Infinity Stones" as a metaphor to organize these companies and organizations into groups related to the stones.

In this video, I compare Cable News Networks to the "Mind Stone" which in the MCU was able to control people's minds. It examines how cable news networks keep viewers glued to their TVs for hours at a time by tell their audience what their audience wants to hear and constantly promising "the latest developments" and "expert commentary". This video also discusses the way news networks use guest "experts" who often have significant conflicts of interest such as former Presidential Cabinet Members, Senators, and Generals who go on Cable News Shows to advocate for the United States getting involved in military conflicts around the world without disclosing they now work for Defense Contractors who will profit from the US getting involved in more conflicts.
