Football, and more generally entertainment, have become massive idols in American culture. This extends even to Christians as well. Entertainment is not inherently a bad thing, but too much of anything can become something it was never intended to be.

As Christians we should be ok with entertainment, but not so engrossed in it that it consumes all our time, thoughts, and emotions.
