'I just covered my child,' desperate mother describes horror of Kyiv bombings.

Nina Vlasiuk was at home with her 10-year-old daughter when the Russian missile slammed into her Kyiv suburb on Wednesday (November 23).

“The first explosion was very loud. After the second explosion, the house started to shake. It was very scary. Things start to fly over – dust, fragments ... I have no words to describe the scene. I covered my child. We waited until it was over,” Vlasiuk told Reuters.

The Kyiv administration said the entire region - home to millions of people - was left completely without electricity, and water supplies were also badly disrupted.
