A Soho Forum discussion on gold against bitcoin

Will cryptocurrencies like bitcoin eventually replace gold as a major method of payment, or will it continue to be important?

Over 80 accepted students from throughout the nation attended a Soho Forum debate on that topic on July 26 at the Mises Institute in Auburn, Alabama, as a part of Mises University, an annual educational program in the Austrian school of economics.

The resolution was backed by Keith Weiner, CEO of Monetary Metals: "Gold will remain an important form of money in the 21st century." According to Weiner, the recent performance of gold simply serves to reinforce the fact that it is prepared to maintain the monetary standing it has enjoyed for the past 5,000 years.
