Kufranja player Adel Bakr Attari suddenly collapsed in the second half of a competition match in the Jordan Handball Cup against Al-Salt Club on November 7th, 2022.

Despite a rapid intervention from the doctors present at the game and the subsequent transportation to a local hospital, he sadly passed away the next day.

The Jordan Handball Federation issued a statement the same day explaining that Atari suffered a serious heart attack. He was 36 years old.

Adel Bakr Attari also played for the Jordanian national team.

According to the scientific article below, the "pooled COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rate" in Jordan for 2022 is almost 49%. I was unable to find whether Adel Bakr Attari belongs to the almost half of the population that got the injection.

The article concludes, "there is still a need for more efforts and awareness interventions to reach a convincing level of vaccination against COVID-19 in Jordan". The author might want to reconsider that statement.
