Two identical twins with different personalities

This is a story about two identical twins with different personalities.
Sam and Tom were identical twins. They were so alike that even their mother found it difficult to tell them apart, at least in the early days of their lives on Earth. However, they were very different in everything but their looks. Sam had no friends and Tom made great friends. Sam liked sweets and Tom liked spicy food and hated sweets. Sam was Mom's pet and Tom was Dad's pet. While Sam was generous and selfless, Tom was greedy and selfish! When Sam and Tom were growing up, their father wanted to divide his fortune equally between them. However, Tom disagreed, stating that whoever was smarter and stronger would get a larger share of the wealth. Sam agreed. Her father decided to organize a competition between them. He asked his two sons to walk as long as possible and return home before sunset. The wealth is shared proportionally to the distance traveled. Under the rules of the competition, they were not allowed to wear watches to keep track of time. The next day Sam and Tom went for a walk. It was a fairly sunny day. Sam walked slowly and steadily while Tom started running as he was determined to win the race and also get most of his father's wealth. Sam knew that the ideal would be to run as far as possible before noon and go home by noon, since it would take him just as long to get home. Knowing this, Sam decided to return home at noon so he could get home on time. However, Tom, with his greed to earn more wealth, did not attempt to return home even after noon. He walked twice as long as Sam and figured he could get home before sundown. He rushed back when he saw that the sun had turned orange. Unfortunately, he didn't even make it halfway home when the sun went down. The darkness slowly swallowed his way and he had to trudge home on tired legs. He lost the race. Just because of my greed.
