U.S. Fed minutes point to slower rate hikes 'soon'

U.S. Fed officials have largely agreed that the central bank will be able to slow its pace of interest rate increases soon.
Meeting minutes from the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee released Wednesday show that many officials back a smaller rate hike.
Markets widely expect the Fed to step down to a half-percentage point increase in December, following four straight point-75 percentage point hikes.
Fed chair Jerome Powell also hinted earlier this month that the central bank may soon begin to slow the pace of hikes.
