Atlanta officers arrest man who fired several shots in the area

On November 23, 2022, at around 1:50 a.m., Atlanta police responded to several shots being fired in the area of Andrews Dr NW and Peachtree Rd NE. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area, but were initially unable to locate the shooter. During this time, a secondary 911 call was received giving a description of the shooter.

Officers continued to canvas the area and located a male matching the description given by the 911 caller. Upon further investigation, a witness, who remained on scene, was able to positively identify the male as being the one he witnessed recklessly shooting in the air. The male, identified as 24-year-old Joel Blasco, was arrested, and charged with Reckless Conduct.

Officers were also able to recover the weapon, a 9MM Luger, and multiple shell casings. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail and taken into their custody without incident.
