Growing Chorus Recognizes Addictive App as National Security Treat, Urges Ban

The Chinese Communist Party has devised a product more addictive than fentanyl, more insidious than its traditional forms of “elite capture” and arguably more dangerous to U.S. security than Beijing’s rapidly expanding military capabilities. It’s an app called TikTok and untold millions of American young people are hooked on it and being seriously debilitated as a result – both in terms of their mental health and future prospects.

TikTok is best known for its silly dance micro-videos and other unedifying content. But a bipartisan array of legislators, regulators and other experts are warning that the app is a weapon being used to collect personal information, geo-locate, indoctrinate and otherwise promote disabling indolence among especially our youth. The dangers associated with these lines of attack are taking their toll in this country and elsewhere – except in China, where the videos on offer from TikTok promote instead patriotism, academic excellence and intellectual growth.

This CPDC webinar addresses the growing consensus that TikTok is a weapon of mass distraction and subversion; one that is truly endangering our nation and that cannot easily be contained; benighted Biden administration policies aimed at allowing the app to continue to operate inside the United States must be rejected; and there is an imperative need for banning it here at home.
