King Charles hosted his first state visit since his ascension to the British throne on Tuesday.
The king rolled out the red carpet when he welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to Buckingham Palace.
Ramaphosa arrived at Stansted Airport in Essex on Monday.
However, he was officially greeted by Charles’s eldest son and heir, Prince William and his wife Kate on Tuesday morning at the official start of his two-day trip.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, “I look forward to welcoming President Ramaphosa to London this week to discuss how we can deepen the partnership between our two great nations and capitalise on shared opportunities, from trade and tourism and security and defence.”

The last state visit to the UK by a South African leader was by former president Jacob Zuma in 2010, when he was met by Charles and Camilla at the start of the trip.
