Сhina and Qatar sign long-term gas deal, Europe left empty-handed

After turning their backs on Russian energy, Europe’s been scrambling to make up a huge shortfall in supplies needed to get through the winter. Officials have been going cap-in-hand to alternative gas suppliers, including Qatar. But Doha has just announced that it’s signed its longest-ever contract with China. We discussed the latest development with journalist Afshin Rattansi.
