Putin oversees the launch of brand-new Yakutia icebreaker in St. Petersburg

Russian President Vladimir Putin supervised via video conference the launching ceremony of the Yakutia icebreaker, held in St.Petersburg.

"Another powerful, modern nuclear-powered icebreaker, Yakutia, is ready to be launched from the slipway of the Baltic Shipyard in St Petersburg", Putin announced to the public.

The new nuclear-powered icebreakers were ordered by the state corporation Rosatom and built at the Baltic Shipyard in St Petersburg.
