Singapore, China express commitment to strengthen defence cooperation

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen has said that China has an "earnest desire" to improve relations with the US, as well as provide greater regional stability in ASEAN. He added that there is recognition that things should be better and that Singapore and China ought to be working harder to improve multilateral affairs. Dr Ng is on a two-day visit to Xi'an at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, General Wei Fenghe. They expressed commitment to strengthening defence cooperation under a deal signed in 2019.
