What's the most addictive food? Addicted to Cheese. Addicted To Cheeseburgers.

Casomorphin is an opioid peptide (protein fragment) derived from the digestion of the milk protein casein. The opiate-like effects of the casomorphin in cow's milk may have a depressive effect on the respiratory center of infants, and lead to “milk apnea,” in which babies temporarily stop breathing, and are placed at risk for sudden infant death syndrome (crib death). Cheese is addictive, Barnard said, because the dairy proteins inside can act as mild opiates. Fragments of cheese protein, called casomorphins, attach to the same brain receptors as heroin and other narcotics.
