Prayers with Thanksgiving

Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:6,
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Why did he write “with thanksgiving”? It is because Paul knew God’s promises:
• Promises to work all things out for our good.
• Promises to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future

So Paul knew that no matter our situation, we can have full confidence that God will take care of it. He may not answer it in the way we request or expect or in the timing we desire, but He WILL take care of it in a manner that is in our BEST interest and at the perfect time.

Placing a situation in God’s hands, we no longer need to be anxious. It’s in God’s “inbox”. We can be confident that He has it handled. We also have an intercessor and advocate in Jesus Christ who is working on our behalf. We can rest easy and be at peace with that confidence.

This is why Paul continued in the next verse with,
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Hold this scripture close to your heart every time you present your requests to God.
• Thank God in your prayer for taking your request into His inbox.
• Thank Him for taking it off your shoulders.
• Thank Him for His promise to work everything out for your good.
• Thank Him for His promise to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future.
• Then accept the peace that comes with the knowledge that Jesus Christ is your advocate.

Happy Thanksgiving!
