For 8 years, the Golden Street Art organized by the site Optical illusion designates the most beautiful street art frescoes in France. For this contest, 135 photographers are mobilizing and criss-crossing the entire country to unearth the most original works. And this year, it is the trompe-l’oeil of the Dutch street artist Léon Keer realized in Plougasnou in Brittany which won it. Our Breton friends must be delighted!

The creative had painted this gigantic work in June 2021 on the wall of a building as part of the Mx Arts Tour competition. Called the “Rescue Kit”, it represents a huge plastic bag filled with toys in the shape of small boats. A creation whose aim was to pay tribute to the heroes saving the seas that Leon Keer admired since childhood but also to reflect the setting in which the work is located.

This nod allowed him to stand out from the Rennes artist Aero and its fresco made in Calais but also of Snake who had graffitied a revisit of Marianne at La Seyne-sur-Mer in the Var.

A creative initiative that did not fail to remind us of Gonzalo Borondo’s impressive trompe-l’oeil, which was voted the most beautiful street art in France last year.
