Extreme weather events have dominated discussions at the COP27 climate summit in Egypt, as smaller countries that have dealt with the brunt of climate disasters continue to demand financial compensation from larger polluters.

However, consensus on this plea is seemingly slipping away, as many fossil fuel lobbyists were present at this year’s conference.
