UK inflation reaches highest level since 1981

Inflation in the United Kingdom has reached its highest level in 41 years.

Rising food and energy costs have pushed inflation to 11.1 per cent.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to announce a suite of cost-of-living payments to tackle the crisis.
