He said he had advanced that situation during a gathering with French President Emmanuel Macron and that he had made sense of Russia's situation during chats with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Russian and Ukrainian authorities held a few rounds of talks during the beginning phases of the contention — including gatherings facilitated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan — that finished without arrangements to check battling.
