Federal officials hold a technical briefing in Ottawa on Bill C-31, the government’s cost-of-living relief legislation. The news conference comes following royal assent of the bill, which contains the first phase of a national dental care program and a one-time top-up to the Canada Housing Benefit. Taking part in the event are Lynne Tomson (associate assistant deputy minister, strategic policy branch, Health Canada) Nadine Leblanc (senior vice-president of policy, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation), and Heather Daniels (director general, benefit programs directorate, Canada Revenue Agency).
