Jeremy Hunt announces tax increases in autumn statement

In a statement to MPs, the chancellor outlined his fiscal plans, which he said would tackle the cost of living crisis, address inflation and rebuild the UK economy. Hunt said the economy was already in recession and announced a range of measures, including a lowering of the threshold for the 45% top rate of income tax from £150,000 to £125,140
