"I'm A Black Man Who Infiltrated The KKK & Lived." - Talking To People Who Hate You with Daryl Davis

One evening, while playing in a band at an all white bar, Daryl Davis was approached by a white man who was impressed with his musical talents. After some conversation, the man revealed he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Daryl then made the shocking decision to meet more KKK members and other extremists to understand why they think–and hate–the way they do. To some, his decision that day may have made little sense. But his impact on the lives of KKK members eventually led 200 of them to denounce the evil ideology. The experience simultaneously convinced Daryl Davis that extremist groups need to be heard & not censored. Daryl joins Alex Clark on The Spillover to explain why censorship is not a solution to hate, plus he shares so much wisdom on how to talk to people that hate you and how you can put those skills to the test during Thanksgiving dinner this year.
