GOD separated it as Holy, the legal observance if you will, of the Sabbath, did not begin till the days of Moses (EXO 31:13; EXO 35:2); but this blessing and sanctification was given prior to any covenant or promise to or with man. The weekly rest, therefore, is universal, permanent, and independent of the Mosaic law. Although the Mosaic Law states it, it (the Shabbat) did not originate there, but originated here in GEN 2.
Remember that the narrative, the telling of the story has gone back to the first day, and now the third day of the creation as told in CH 1. The Hebrew word for the plants GOD created in GEN 1:11, is דֶּשֶׁא deše' a very general term meaning all types of new vegetation.
JOH 3:18, Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
