Tackling family violence: More recommendations by taskforce to be implemented next year

Survivors of family violence will get stronger support soon, as more recommendations by a taskforce set up to tackle the issue are implemented. Minister of State for Social and Family Development Sun Xueling gave this update at a conference on managing family violence. From April, those who need help can call a 24-hour emergency response team. It is made up of social service professionals, who will have the authority to issue emergency protection orders at the scene. A resource guide on managing child protection cases has also been launched. It will help professionals coordinate efforts across agencies.
