This Original Oil Painting of The Serpent tempting Eve in the beautiful Garden of Eden is inspired by the painting "The Dragon Prince" by Boris Vallejo. The oldest known written story of "The Garden of Eden" can be found in the ancient clay tablets made by the Sumerians thousands of years before the Hebrews adopted it in their creation myth.
There are many cultures that give credit for their knowledge and civilization to "serpents", "sky people" or "those who came from above", but the history of the Annunaki, Anu, Enki and Enlil as written on clay tablets by the Sumerians about 5,000 years ago is the oldest record that we can examine.
The Sumerians left us written records of the first schools, libraries, government, taxes, philosophy, ethics, literature, law, justice, agriculture and medicine but are left out of mainstream history.
Interestingly, they wrote the first Creation myth and "Garden of Edin", the first "Moses", the first "Job", the first "Proverbs and Sayings", the first "Noah" and tale of "The Great Flood", the first tale of Resurrection, the first tale of "St. George Slaying the Dragon" and much more.
A good "pre-internet" place to start reading about them is:
"History Begins at Sumer" by Noah Kramer published in 1956 and 1959.
