Litany of Truth

Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy
Christ hear us
Christ graciously hear us

God the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
God the Holy Spirit,
Holy Trinity, One God,
Holy Mary, mother of Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Lk 1:48, Jas 5:16, Jn 14:6), pray for us

From false prophets, deliver us Lord (continued response)
From false shepherds,
From false doctrine,
From those who would defraud your people,
From wolves in sheep's clothing,

O Lord, do not allow your people to perish from lack of knowledge. (Osee, chapter 46)
In knowledge of doctrine, lead us in all truth (continued response)
In knowledge of medicine and healing,
In knowledge of science,
In knowledge of history and current events,

That the truth would spring up out of the earth (Ps 84:12), Lord hear us we pray (continued response)
That the truth would be written in our hearts (Prov. 3:3),
That the truth would encompass us as a shield (Ps 90:5),
That we may girt ourselves with the belt of truth (Eph 6:14),

That we may partake of the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth (1Cor 5:8),
That we may put on the "new man" which is created in justice and the holiness of truth (Eph 4:24),
That we would be a nation that keeps the truth (Is 26:2),
That you would provide your people leaders of truth (Ex 18:21),

That you would be near to all that call upon you in truth (Ps 144:18),
That you would protect those who seek and proclaim the truth (Sir 2:13),
That we may, with charity and modesty, correct those who resist the truth (2Tim 2:25),
That hidden dishonesty may be denounced (2Cor 4:2),

That deceitful things which are covered and hidden might be revealed in the light of truth (Mt 10:26),
That we may always give a ready answer when others ask with Pilate, "what is truth?" (1Pet 3:15, Jn 18:38),
That the truth may set us free, especially those who are wrongfully accused or wrongfully imprisoned (Jn 8:32),
