Hale Woods did. And since one wasn’t being invented fast enough for his liking, Hale decided to invent one himself.

Sidney was the product of Hale’s passion. He was everything that Hale had dreamt of…and more.

She confided that she was fleeing an abusive relationship. She, a high school coach and he, a math teacher at the same school. Hale took her in and things did not settle down.

When Sidney was finally discovered by the law, the town celebrated. They had needed a superhero for a long, long time. But when Sidney pulled a stunt at the citywide celebration, all good went out the window, including Hale’s dreams for Sidney and for Darlene, who he was growing to love.
