Plato was a Greek philosopher and mathematician, specifically from Athens. Viewed from the perspective of the history of philosophy, Plato is classified as an Ancient Greek philosopher. He is the author of philosophical dialogues and the founder of the Platonic Academy in Athens, the first high school in the western world.
