From November 6 to 18, COP27 is taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, where many heads of state will discuss the various means to be put in place to fight against global warming (at least we hope so).

On this occasion, institutions and companies do not hesitate to bring their stones to the building with originality and creativity. The WWF organization has just unveiled a striking stop motion to denounce the drastic rise in temperatures and its direct consequences on wildlife and the planet.

Titled “A Flammable Planet,” the one-minute stop motion short follows a little white rabbit who does his best to escape the flames ravaging the forest. From the first seconds, we see him watching a spark of fire fall on the forest floor, before it ends up igniting the space.

The narrator also emphasizes that “forest fires today are bigger, more intense and last longer than ever” causing irreversible damage to the natural habitats of animals but also of men.

After a first successful collaboration in 2021 that we present to you in this article, the NGO once again called on the London studio NOMINT. And because no challenge seems insurmountable to them, they used real fire with highly flammable accessories to have an ultra-realistic rendering and create a real sense of control and danger.

The biggest challenge has been finding a way to utilize the true properties of fire which can prove devastating to the production set if left unchecked. Through this poignant film, WWF hopes to raise awareness of the devastation caused by forest fires leading to deforestation and land deformation.
