1.5 million Kazakh citizens apply for deposit bonus | Jibek Joly TV

Over 1.5 million Kazakh citizens will be able to receive 10 percent compensation on tenge deposits. These are the depositors who confirmed their consent and submitted their applications to the banks. Compensation will be credited to those who have savings, term, non-term, educational, accumulative deposits, as well as the deposits in the housing construction savings system, the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund reports. It bears noting that Kazakh citizens must confirm their consent to receive the reward by January 1, 2023. They can do it online, as such an option is available at most of the country’s financial institutions. Overall, over five million depositors are eligible for the bonus payment. As of September 2022, the total amount of compensation amounted to about 360 billion tenge.
