Esther: God's Unseen Presence--A Providential Acceptance

In chapter 4, Esther was confronted with the difficult choice of approaching the king unrequested to plead for her people, or to remain quiet. Even if she survived, she would witness the destruction of her people.
She decides to act and begins her preparations.
Chapter 5 recounts what happens as she goes before the king. As we mentioned previously, this is her “Daniel Moment.” She cannot be certain what is going to happen, but she is willing to do what is right and let God take care of the rest.
She is not presumptuous or reckless in her approach. She has spent the last three days fasting, and she has a strategy planned out. Certainly, she is acting on faith, but it is not blind faith, it is a thoughtful faith.
We, too, will have moments when we need to act on truth, not knowing the outcome. As we walk through the events of Chapter 5, we are going to see several truths, and learn several lessons, and we’ll see a picture of the Gospel right in the middle.
