Explosion rocks central Istanbul

A deadly blast has occurred on Istanbul’s Istiklal Avenue, a busy pedestrian street in the historic heart of the city.

Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya said that according to preliminary information, four people were killed and a further 38 wounded in the explosion. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a terrorist probe, according to local media.
