This story for kids is about overcoming fear and anxiety and making new friends even when it's scary. It reveals that everyone has insecurities and that stepping outside our comfort zone is the only way to grow. My favorite quote from this book is, "It felt like the scariest thing he could do... But if you want things to change, you first have to change YOU." That is a nugget of truth I hope your children will remember from this story. Things around us may be outside our control, but we always have control of ourselves and can change our world if we just start there. Some things can take a long time to change. Others, can change very quickly, like if we change our socks. But what this story teaches us is that we can improve not only our own situation in life, but also other people's. How? By being a friend.

I lost my voice this week, but I wanted to record some book shows anyway. This one worked out well since I needed a nice cracky voice for the mouse. I probably won't be able to talk like this in a few more days.
