Colonel Chad Hogan of the US army imagines that there is no place on Earth worse than the POW camp he’s currently being held at in the Philippines. It’s early 1944. He was captured in ’43.

Right now he has no idea that the camp in the Philippines is a better place to be than the camp he’s getting transferred to. At this very moment, he’s standing in a line made up of mostly US POWs, about to board a ship that is part of a fleet they have nicknamed the “Hell Ships.”
