The black cab drivers you see all over the city actually go through a long period of training before they get a job. Typically, training may last between 2 and 4 years, and candidates have to memorize every street in London. Additionally, they must be able to make quick assumptions based on the route that takes the least amount of time to get from one destination to another. Now, you can easily understand why they charge such a high fee.
