This is the moment adorable baby Taman Dua takes her first steps at her Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, WA is. It's been weeks since the zookeeper kept him healthy. Also in respiratory disease. Footage from
shows a puppy named Liana crawling and sticking out her huge tongue.
This comes after she was rehabilitated by a veterinarian who determined she was suffering from a respiratory illness that caused her to lose weight rapidly. Baby Tamandua has doubled in size and weighed 1.8 pounds in the last few weeks.
She managed to regain her weight after zookeepers gave her supplements and gave her antibiotics.
They added that if Liana was strong and confident enough, she would show up with Terra and Father Gonzo. Expect to breastfeed for 6 months, but start sampling solid foods like insects and fruit after 2-3 months.
footage shows veterinarians closely monitoring pregnant mother Terra to ensure the safe delivery of her baby Liana.
To keep Terra calm, her attendant gave her whipped cream from a tray while she performed an ultrasound scan.
This puppy was named Liana after the ivy that hangs on the tree.
Terra's newest puppy, Chiquita, was born in August 2018 and lived with her parents until late last year when she was moved to the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Laboratory in Washington, DC.
Tamandua is a species of anteater native to Central and South America, with a tongue he grows up to 16 inches long.
