Jim Smith was a mentor to me when I was a kit getting into RC soaring. He was one of the best people I knew. Everyone in the Southern California soaring scene would agree. When he passed away I acquired an old model he had. The fuselage is an Airtronics Sapphire and I believe the wings are Fred Sage addiction.

I scratch build the tails to get a longer tail moment and increases vertical stab area. The model flew really well! However it was pretty heavy at 72oz. Span is about 3M.
