Ukrainian soldier raise flags and receive hero's reception in Kherson

UKRAINIAN Interior Ministey on Friday (Nov. 11) released a video that shows a Ukrainian soldier raising a flag in a liberated village in Kherson after withdrawal of Russian troops.

“In the Kherson region, National Guard soldiers raised the Ukrainian flag in the village of Kachkarivka Glory to Ukraine!” said the ministry in the statement.

The Ukrainian military on Friday entered the southern city of Kherson after the Russian retreat from the region.

The region was captured by Russian forces at the start of the war, which has dragged on for nine months.

The withdrawal of the Russian army from Kherson to the eastern bank of Ukraine’s Dnieper River was completed early this morning, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Not a single unit of military equipment and weapons has been left on the western bank. All Russian servicemen crossed to the left bank of the Dnieper," Russia's Defense Ministry statement said.
