US cops arrest blind man after mistaking folded cane for gun🔫Bodycam footage from Florida shows James Hodges being detained by policemen from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. The 61-year-old man was walking on a sidewalk on his way home from the courthouse when he was stopped by cops.‘It looked like you were carrying a gun in your back pocket,’ the police officer said. ‘I’m stopping to make sure you’re carrying it properly.’ Hodges then proceeded to pull out the stick and show it. But it seems US cops are not so easy to convince. After Hodges demonstrated that he wasn't armed, they still placed him in handcuffs. It has been revealed that Hodges is legally blind and ‘has a right’ to take a cane with him. The man was asked to say his name and provide ID, but he refused. As a result, the policemen arrested James.Both deputies will be suspended without pay and required to take remedial training about civil rights.
